Over the last eight years, we have been blessed -- and truly enriched, by the privilege of being allowed to preach the word of God to many new immigrants, and more importantly: we are so thankful to God for the great results. One major problem to overcome however, has been that many have difficulty understanding the language, symbolism and meaning of the Bible because it is not in their original language. IN this, they’re not alone; because none of us really understand the Bible.

The Bible is the word of God and was written over hundreds of years; with the Old Testament written in Hebrew and the New Testament in Classical Greek. From there, it became translated into Latin, Old English, modern English and finally into the other languages of the world.

One of the problems is that over the last three thousand years much of the original symbolism of the Bible has become difficult to understand, which discourages many from reading it; however, through faith, trust and prayer – we've done a little work to make it easier for those whose English may be limited.

We have volunteered and read the Bible every Tuesday and Thursday for the last nine years (2009) with hundreds of people, and through this we have taken careful note of their questions and difficulties with the word of God.(The word of God being the King James Bible.) From there, we put our request to God: "We have many friends – both in Canada and overseas, who are hungry to learn about Christianity, but they don’t understand the Bible … will you let us tell it as a common person's story as a way of introducing it to them until they can read and understand it themselves?"

One day, one of our members just sat down and started to type the book of Matthew into a story-like way that a newcomer could understand; and he said he felt so good about it; that he got some of the people we volunteer with to read it and tell what they thought. They gave their reactions and pointed out the parts they still didn’t understand, so he made the necessary clarification, and the project took hold.

He made it as clear as he could, but decided to leave in the all difficult items like Pharisee, Sadducee, Sanhedrin and the rest in order to tell as much of the story as possible. In deciding to leave them in, he also made a section of clarification that enhances the Bible by identifying the difficult concepts, symbolism and vocabulary.

This section of our ministry is -- let us make this 100% clear -- simply to tell the New Testament in an easy to comprehend story in order to create an interest and basic understanding of what the reader will one day read him or herself. It is NOT a translation of the New Testament; it is NOT the New Testament... it is simply a greatly (greatly!) simplified primer to actually reading the text. The King James Bible is the only real Bible; this is just as if an adult were explaining the New Testament to a child in Sunday School. One serious motivator for doing this, is that the new immigrants and others are and will be bombarded with many false versions and nonsense talk regarding the Word of God; as well as others who are and will try to make a fool out of Christianity by changing the Bible to say what they want it to say. In the last book of the Bible, Revelation, it says in Revelation 7:1:” Blessed is the person who does everything that is contained in the Bible,” and in revelation 18:1 it says boldly, “I warn everyone who hears the words of God in this book [the Bible]: If anyone adds anything to them, God will send great punishment to him, and if anyone takes away [any of the words or ideas] from this book, then God will take away that person’s rewards.”

People everywhere are changing the word of God in order to do whatever they want; our simplified/story-telling/primer, is given our nine years of work (2009) with new immigrants, the best we can do.

The basic points, are that Jesus is the Son of God, He gave up His life for us, rose from His death and went to heaven, and that anyone who believes in Him will go to heaven.

Our work is now being done in Chinese by our team of great translators, as well as (slowly) in Spanish, Korean and Japanese -- which is great news, because our brothers in Christ worldwide are getting the word of God. Thank you God.
