Bible Passages
36. The parable of the net Mathew 13:47-51
Jesus told that heaven would be like a net that was thrown into a lake to catch fish, and when the net was pulled up, it was so full of fish that the fisherman took it to the shore. They would then sort the fish out and put the good ones into baskets while throwing the bad ones out. Jesus said it would be like this at the end of time: the good people will be separated from the bad, and the bad will be thrown into the “fiery furnace,” where they will cry and grind their teeth in agony.
In this passage we learn how when Jesus returns the end of time, that the good and the bad people will be separated just as good and bad fish are separated at the market, and that the good will go to heaven, and the bad will go to hell.
